Tablespace Technologies, a managed workspace provider, has filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch an initial public offering (IPO). The company plans to raise up to ₹800 crore through a fresh issue of equity shares, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders.
The filing, made public on Tuesday, outlines the company’s intent to deploy the proceeds from the fresh issue. According to the DRHP, the funds will be used to repay outstanding borrowings, pursue strategic acquisitions, and meet general corporate requirements.
Tablespace operates in the rapidly growing managed workspace segment, which has seen increased demand as businesses adopt flexible office arrangements. The company’s move to tap the capital markets comes amid a broader trend of Indian firms seeking public listings to fuel expansion.
The IPO comprises a fresh issue of up to ₹800 crore and an OFS, though the exact number of shares and the price band have not yet been disclosed. The company will use the funds to strengthen its balance sheet by clearing debt, which could improve its financial flexibility and support future growth initiatives.
In its DRHP, Tablespace said the acquisition component of the fundraising will help it scale operations and expand its footprint in key markets. The company did not specify potential targets but indicated that it is evaluating opportunities in the workspace and related technology sectors.
General corporate purposes will cover working capital requirements, capital expenditure, and other ongoing business needs, according to the filing.
The IPO market in India has remained active, with several companies across sectors lining up to go public. Managed workspace providers, in particular, have attracted investor attention as hybrid work models become more entrenched. Tablespace’s offering will compete for investor interest with other issuances in the pipeline.
Industry analysts note that the success of such IPOs will depend on the company’s ability to demonstrate profitability and growth potential. Tablespace has not yet released its financial results in the public domain, but the DRHP will contain detailed financials for SEBI’s review.
The company has appointed merchant bankers to manage the issue, though their names were not disclosed in the initial announcement.
SEBI’s approval of the DRHP is the next regulatory hurdle. Once cleared, Tablespace will be able to launch the IPO, which is expected to take place in the coming months, subject to market conditions.
The company’s entry into the public markets marks a significant milestone for the managed workspace sector, which has seen consolidation and expansion in recent years. With the fresh capital, Tablespace aims to solidify its position in the market and compete with larger players.
Investors will be watching the IPO’s pricing and valuation closely, as well as the company’s growth trajectory in a sector that is still maturing.
